Random Thoughts and Ideas about 2016

I have a few minutes so I’m just going to pass on some of my views, ideas and information about things happening in my tiny virtual world.

First a comment about comments.   As I’ve said many times but not enough, I LOVE all your comments faves, watches and views!  They are my motivation to add to and improve all aspects of this page.  My goal is to acknowledge all comments in the comments part of the page.   I would love to thank all those who fave, and did the first two years I was at DA, but that is just not practically possible given the number of faves I often get.  So, thank you especially, everyone who faves my work but who I can’t thank personnaly.

In my 3D art I am doing most of my work in IRAY now, instead of Reality / LUX.  I think right now with what I know and my technical capabilities Reality /Lux still gives me a slightly better photo realistic finish than Daz3D IRAY.  BUT, IRAY takes a fraction of the time to render.  Because I am ALWAYS under a time constraint when I work, I am doing more work on IRAY and trying to learn its nuances as fast as I can.  It is a completely different lighting process and so I’m very much a newbie again.  Please bare with me while I learn, and tell me what you think of the IRAY results.

In my heart of hearts I want to do more traditional artwork –original digitial painting and sketching.  The upside of traditional and digital painting and drawing is that it is truly a challenge and a great reward when done.  The BIG downside, for a novice like me, is it takes a lot of time consuming effort, and often I am unhappy with the results when finished.  I work on drawing a lot and I have tons of sketch books filled.  But, until I start to reach the standard I’ve set for myself, only a little of it will reach DA.  I hope in 2016 that will be a little more than 2015!

I have a number of story lines that I want to complete or start.  This year I want to get back to the Blue Vixen story.  I also want to finish my Valkyrie comic book.  I have two novella projects in mind I would like to do with Etherea.  If I can accomplish two of the four things I’ve mentioned, or something else entirely new I haven’t thought of, then 2016 will be a great story-telling year!

Picture morphing / photo manipulation is a new technique for me.  As many of you have noticed, I have discovered photo manipulation, or picture morphing and meshing as some call it.   This is a new an interesting technique.  I am impressed with the results.  It does, however, have major limitations.  Despite those limitations, I  hope to expand this area of my work some as well.  Those of you who like it, stay tuned for more to come!

So there are some of my guiding ideas and thoughts as we start 2016.  I have no idea what the year holds for me, but I’m very hopeful that this page will reflect continued growth both in imagination and artistic quality.
