The interested reader might compare the painting at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nigh… with Night Walk, for a similar use of light and shadow. However, I don't think the picture there is as good as this one by Ms. D.
Each time I walk past her in the group's gallery, Donna, I have to pause and gaze a while. Every time I am caught in her allure I see something more which pleases my senses. I must hang her now on the walls of my own gallery, where she'll always be near generating inspiration.
Such a lovely tone and mood you have created here. The interplay of shadows in the warmth of the lamplight sets an atmosphere which is all the more engaging through this angle and perspective.
Wow talk about a vastly different image from your normal images. The emotional change is really evident here, this woman really has a lot on her mind. From the downcast eyes in an effort to avoid eye contact to the hunched shoulders and hands in her pockets. She has either just been hurt by a lover or loved one or she has just received some crushing news. Either way you have captured the moment in time perfectly. Sorry this is a late comment to this, and I will try to be more timely in the future.
