Conspirator 2

The bomb went off but the dictator managed to survive. Many of the conspirators did not and those that did went into deep hiding, hoping to avoid the wide net that the secret police put out to gather in any who even mildly opposed the hated dictator.

Katrine Kurz, known to the Germans as Sturmfuhrer Maria Armst, did not have the option of deep hiding,. The allies had invaded Europe and were hoping to end the war by Christmas. If they could eliminate the dictator, being home by Christmas would not be just a wish, but reality.

So, Katrine had used her official status to take a leave of absence from the women’s support branch of the SS and leave Berlin to travel deep into the Bavarian Alps. There she linked up with several other operatives of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and began to form a plan to eliminate the enemy leader in his favorite vacation spot high in the Alps.

Katrine became Frauline Inge, the guest quarters maid. Her initial assignment was to get copies of the various important keys needed to get access to the “Tea House” where the dictator resided when in town. Unfortunately, that meant becoming cozy with Standartenfuhrer Hartz.

“Gruss Gut Herr Standartenfuhrer!” she greeted him as she met him in his quarters. “Haben Sie a bieschen zeit fur mich mein herr?” Do you have a little time for me sir?

“Ich brauche wirklich Ihre Beratung.” I really need your advice.

“Und ich kann nur darauf vertrauen, eine intelligente schonen mann,” And I can only trust a smart handsome man.

Katrine skillfully hid her distain for the fat bureaucrat in uniform, and concentrated on the mission. She drew on all the training that she received from the OSS. She smiled and blinked seductively at a man who represented all that she detested. But, she felt it was her obligation to do whatever necessary to further the allied cause.

“Vielleicht konnen Sie mir helfen?” Maybe you can help me?

Katrine continued to smile as the man's pudgy fingers reached out and stroked her bare shoulder.
