Alice and the Cheshire Catwoman: Curiouser

Alice followed the trail until she came upon a spot where it converged with a number of other trails, each one snaking away from the little forest clearing in a different direction like the spokes of a wheel. 

"Oh dear!" said Alice.  "Which way shall I go?"

"That depends," she heard a sultry voice above her say, "on where you are trying to get."

The blonde looked up, and her jaw dropped as she spotted the woman on a branch above her.  "Why...you're a cat...woman!"

The woman's mouth opened into a wide grin.  "Yes, a cheshire catwoman, you might say," she said, dropping lithely from the branch and landing beside Alice.  "So, where, my dear girl, are you trying to go?"

"Well...I..." Alice began to stammer.

"If I was looking for a white rabbit, I'd go that way," the cat said, slipping behind Alice and wrapping an arm around her waist, and pointing down one of the trails."

"You saw the white rabbit?" Alice asked excitedly, her eyes wandering down the direction the cheshire catwoman was pointing, a little tingle running up and down her spine, both at the revelation and the strange but intoxicating feeling of being pulled into the strange woman's arms.  "Then, I...I guess I shall be off that way," Alice said.

"Oh, don't be so hasty, my dear," the catwoman said, sliding the hand she'd been using to point over Alice's shoulder and across her right breast, "The rabbit will be back.  He circles around and around.  He's quite mad, you know."

Alice smiled slightly and looked back over her shoulder.  "Mad?"

The cat nodded, "Oh yes, dear.  We're all quite mad here.  Besides, I've got something much more interesting for us to do, if you're curious."

Alice nodded nervously, "I'm curiouser and curiouser," she said.

"Wonderful," the cat smiled, clamping a wet cloth over Alice's nose and mouth.  "We'll have so much fun together," the cat grinned again.  Alice struggled reflexively, but whatever was on the little rag was strange and powerful.  It smelled like flowers and was so pleasant to inhale, but it made her dizzier and dizzier and more and more confused until, at last, she felt quite relaxed and sleepy.  Her head felt quite comfortable laid against the strange, grinning catwoman's shoulder, and she decided to stop fighting to stay awake and drift into dreamland.
