A New Package

Captain Etherea Serendipity blushed but gave Donna Dee a stern glare as the actress grinned at the Captain's very lacy feminine lingerie.   With a toss of her now loose hair she stepped behind a dressing screen that separated one corner of the room form the rest of the suite.   There she quickly finished removing her lingerie and in the process noticed that her stockings, which were rare and expensive nylon, were totally destroyed in the confrontation she had had earlier with the palace mutts.

Anxious to get dressed again and feeling the damp English air on her skin she tore open the plain paper wrapped package that Miss Dee had had delivered for her. 

"Oh my God!"

The piercing scream  that came from behind the dressing curtain should have startled the actress, who had poured herself a Scotch from the well stocked bar,  but she was expecting it.  Without missing a beat, and in a falsely concerned voice she inquired, "What's wrong Captain?"

"They brought the wrong package!" exclaimed the obviously agitated military officer.

"Really?  I'd be very surprised  if they did.  Is it  a pale blue corset with matching stockings, shoes  and panties?" inquired the actress innocently.

"Yes!" came Etherea's reply from behind the screen.

"Then its exactly the right package," Dee stated calmly while trying to keep her grin from reaching her voice.

"What!?  You have to be joking!  I can't wear this!"  Etherea replied.  Clearly the Captain was not happy with the contents of the package.

"Well dear Captain, I am afraid you have no choice.   That is the only thing in your tall size I could find with no notice," replied the actress calmly.

"But  it's not clothes, its just lingerie!" yelled Serendipity from behind the screen.

"Just lingerie?!  I will have you know that that "just lingerie" cost more than two months of your salary!"  Dee intentionally let some anger that she didn't feel creep into her voice.  "That is a costume from my act!  Not 'just lingerie,' and I went through a lot of trouble and expense to have my stage manager find it and send over here just for you!  I can't believe how ungrateful you are!"

"The least you could do is put it on and then come out here and we can discuss what you are wearing after we know it fits!"

Etherea considered her options: her skirt was gone; her hose was torn to shreds, and she was in the middle of London hours from her quarters.  In addition, she had two hours to get the spoiled Hollywood actress to the USO show on the other side of the city.  With a resigned sigh she began to dress.

"Okay.  I will see how it fits and then we will discuss getting me some proper clothes!" called the flustered Army officer from behind the screen as she slowly donned the luxurious lingerie and avoided looking in the large mirror..

"Of course Captain,"  replied the once again calm actress while successfully keeping her broad smile from reflecting in her voice.
